Click-in Fixture Systems is working on a new way of installing windows for the building services and construction industry.

The idea was born several years ago when they were working on custom-designed windows and didn't want frame holes for the sake of design. After many attempts, they came up with a bracket that not only shortens installation time, but also makes it possible to install the window where there is a bracket in the wall and move the bracket freely along the entire frame. Today, they work extensively with installers, window manufacturers and house builders, among others.

Inwoco builds the next generation of exterior walls, both load-bearing house walls and cantilever walls. We turned the way the industry builds walls today upside down and created a patented production solution that gives you, the customer, peace of mind with fast delivery times, flexible assembly and full control throughout production. We call it Climate Shell 4.0.

We build the wall from smaller insulated blocks in standardized industry dimensions pre-produced in our own factory. The number of blocks a wall consists of depends entirely on the size of the wall. We simply add up to the required dimensions. Windows and door sections are easily applied into the construction and all walls are prepared with a waterproofing layer, air gap and space for the installation of internal electricity.

Through this patented construction process, we can deliver:

  • Fast production start and short delivery time.
  • Low energy class U-value 0.13.
  • Prefabricated wall blocks with all waterproofing layers from the factory.
  • Air gap and space for internal electrical installation.
  • Prepared for dismantling and reuse.

Why did you want to be part of Making in Wood?

The company was formed as a result of people who met within the network and who collaborated in several development projects and network groups. It was natural for us to actively participate in the great industrial leap forward with this new company.

Klara Byggsystem provides the "Klara foundation", a superior alternative for most house constructions up to about 8 storeys. It replaces cast slabs on grade and uses the same reliable methods of damp-proofing and insulation as a cast slab. At the same time, it is faster to construct, streamlines the subsequent construction and is a significantly more climate-friendly alternative as it replaces concrete with wood.

Why did you want to be part of Making in Wood?

We believe that a transition to a more sustainable and efficient construction sector is necessary for sustainable societal development. This transition will be faster and more rewarding the more cooperation and knowledge exchange takes place in business, academia and the public sector. For us, it is a matter of course to both contribute to and benefit from all such exchanges and we believe that "Making in Wood" is a valuable forum for this.

Scandinavian Fibre Board AS develops new products based on biomaterials from the forest, and has participated in the development of a new Fiberboard based on Thermomechanical pulp. The uniqueness of this board is that we control the properties of the board using refining technology. The fiberboard is unique as it becomes extremely strong but still light.

The plates have a density of between 110 kg/m3 up to 300 kg/m3 depending on the property sought; low density gives high insulation value and higher density gives better sound and fire properties.

Applications are both in building products and raw material for furniture manufacturing, such as underfloor heating, ceiling applications, KL-Hybrids and furniture such as countertops, tables and cabinets.

Why be part of the Manufacturing in Wood network?

We see Manufacturing in Wood and the Stone City Environment as a perfect opportunity for us to work on new prototypes, because of the design expertise available. We also believe that we will benefit from taking advantage of the expertise that exists in construction and building components. In addition, some of our important partners are also members, which makes it even more important for us to participate.

Woodbe Engineering AB has created a self-locking frame system in cross laminated timber. The idea was based on a thesis at Karlstad University by John Elwin Segolsson and Filip Palosaari (founders of Woodbe) and focused on cross-laminated timber fasteners as it is an attractive material as the construction industry moves towards more sustainable building.

The company focuses on developing self-locking frame systems to facilitate timber construction and contribute to smoother assembly and more ergonomic construction through smart and simple solutions, to make the choice to build in wood easier.

Why did you want to be part of Making in Wood?
We are interested in joining Woodbe because we have participated in a workshop and a webinar with you. After the workshop "Building with CLT" we got a bigger network of contacts which has helped us to go further and develop Woodbe. This is a good way to learn from each other in the industry and develop together to make the choice easier to build in wood.

We are a startup company that wants to be involved in developing the construction industry in wood as we are developing fastening methods in a new frame system for cross-laminated timber.

Woodtube wants to reduce the industry's impact on the climate and believes that resource-efficient products from the Swedish forest are the right way to go to achieve that goal. Their patented paper rule is cheaper and has 14 times less carbon dioxide emissions than the sheet metal rules used today when building interior walls.

It improves the working environment for carpenters by reducing both heavy lifting and the risk of cuts. There are more applications for the paper rule where you want to make more climate-smart products and utilize the combination of a light, strong and climate-smart material.
